Following is a list of commonly asked questions and their answers:
Q. How can Car Servicing at Five Star Autocentre be cheaper than most main dealers?
A. Fact - our parts and labour overheads and mark up costs are far less than a main dealer. Savings are passed onto our customers because of our extensive parts buying power allowing us to negotiate good rates.
Q. Are the parts used of the same quality as a main dealer?
A. We always use Original Equipment (OE) standard parts which will not void your warranty. In most cases the parts supplied by the parts distributors to independent garages are the same as those used by the main dealer.
Q. Why do I no longer need to use a main dealer to service my car?
A. "Block Exemption" legislation came into force in 2003 and was introduced by the Government. This protected your warranty whilst allowing the independent garage to carry out your car service as opposed to the main dealer.
Q. Are your technicians qualified enough to work on my car?
A. All of our technicians are main dealer trained. This was carried out at Toyota in Huddersfield. A combination of over 20 years of experience is on hand. They are also registered with the Automotive Technician Accreditation.
Q. Will my car receive a valet before it is returned to me?
A. Whilst we do not offer a valet service we will ensure that the outside of your car is washed and the inside is vacuumed before it is returned to you on all Gold Plus Service options.
Q. How is payment made once the work is completed?
A. You can pay the invoice either by a credit, debit card or by cash.
Q. Will my service book be stamped?
A. Yes. We will ensure that your service book has been updated and stamped when the car is returned to you on the Silver, Gold and Gold Plus option.
Q. Will you pick my car up and deliver it back once the service has been completed?
A. Yes. We can pick the vehicle up for all Gold Plus Service options between 8am - 10am and return it back between 4pm -6pm from either your home or place of work subject to schedule availability.
Q. My car has a rattling noise under the bonnet. Are you able to look at it for me?
A. Yes. We will endeavour to detect any reported faults FREE OF CHARGE and then inform you of our findings immediately.
Q. My service light is on; will it be reset once the service is complete?
A. Yes, we will always reset your service light prior to returning your car to you.
Q. Am I at all times in control of the costs of my service?
A. Yes. We have a strict policy. At no time will we complete any additional work without first obtaining your authorisation.
